Alexander McQueen Has Passed Away… 0
Although details regarding the death of designer Alexander McQueen are limited, it’s rumored that McQueen hung himself. McQueen’s untimely death comes less than a week after his own Mother’s passing.
Alexander McQueen’s impact on the world of fashion was nothing short of remarkable. The young Britt was known for his theatrical and envelope pushing fashion shows as well as his designs which many consider wearable works of art. Alexander McQueen was only 40 years old. His sudden passing is as shocking as it is sad.
RIP Alexander McQueen. You will be deeply missed.
AC/DC Lane To Celebrate Bands History With Five Day Party and Memorabilia Show… 0
Letters to Bon Scott’s wife Irene Thornton and other AC/DC Melbourne-esque memorabilia will be on display starting Thursday along AC/DC Lane in Melbourne, AU.
James Young (no relation), the owner of Cherry Bar (!) said that they plan to bring AC/DC “to life through AC/DC-inspired art and music”. Young purchased the letters and some photos at an art auction in 2006. Here’s an passage from one of the letters Scott penned to Thornton from the road during his all too short, long way to the top:
I just wanna get a lot of money soon so I can change a few things about myself. More booze and dope. Not really. I just wanna be famous, I guess. Just so when people talk about ya, it’s good things they say. That’s all I want.
AC/DC will kick off the one time only celebration on Thursday night with a three-night stint at Etihad Stadium.

Peter Lardong of Berlin making chocolate records. Yes, really.
At first Peter Lardong tried to make records out of sausages, beer and cheese. Lardong was finally successful when he decided to use chocolate. Unbelievably, the chocolate records actually play music.

BLOODBATH…! 0
Bloodbath, directed by Stephen Reedy. A companion short to Winter Stalker.

If you’re in NY and happen to be covered in blood (it happens), get to the ZEROFRIENDS retail store at 437 East 9th. As of January 30th, Zerofriends will take over the Upper Playground space and assault you with an appalling array of amazing merch.
Now, back to the star of this post, Bloodbath! As with the Winter Stalker video there will be a contest. The winner of the Winter Stalker contest got a signed Alex Pardee print so in the case of Bloodbath, crime does pay. More details will be announced on February 4th.

Died Young, Stayed Pretty: A Movie You Must See About Rock Posters… 2
Died Young, Stayed Pretty. A film about rock posters. Thanks to Dr. H.
Last night I was one of seven people (including my good friend Dr. H, the projectionist) that took in the movie Died Young, Stayed Pretty at The Grand Illusion here in Seattle. Yeah, I know it was a Sunday and yeah, Died Young is an obscure flick that documents the anti-culture artists that have been creating rock posters over the last couple of decades. However, Died Young is not only an enthralling movie if you’re a rock junkie like me, it’s also an expertly edited, introspective look into the lives of the artists that do what they do because they can’t not do it. Hometown bonus points to director Eileen Yaghoobian for the screen-time dedicated to Seattle’s vibrant, underground rock-art scene.
Died Young, Stayed Pretty runs through Thursday at The Grand Illusion.
