I suppose the “hat” that Pammy is wearing on top of her head in this photo might be a slight improvement from this. Might being the operative word here…

I’ll strip for YOU if you strip for ME! For Triple G.
Despite the fact that it looks like Stevie Wonder did his makeup (and for the love of God, don’t look at his fingers!), Adam Ant is looking pretty hot for 55. It’s definitely an improvement from last week when Ant performed live at Looking Glass bookshop in London. It’s also rumored that Mr. Ant Music himself is currently in the studio working on new music for the first time in 16 years. Take that Nickelback.
Although details regarding the death of designer Alexander McQueen are limited, it’s rumored that McQueen hung himself. McQueen’s untimely death comes less than a week after his own Mother’s passing.
Alexander McQueen’s impact on the world of fashion was nothing short of remarkable. The young Britt was known for his theatrical and envelope pushing fashion shows as well as his designs which many consider wearable works of art. Alexander McQueen was only 40 years old. His sudden passing is as shocking as it is sad.
Stand By Me cover by Lemmy Kilmister. For Jane who after seeing Lemmy and the Head Cat at The Viper Room this past New Years Day said she would now and forever“lay off of Lemmy’s blue suede shoes”.
Lemmy’s gravely cover of the Ben E. King’s 1961 classic features Slayer’s Dave Lombardo on the drums.
You can find Lemmy’s version of Stand By Me on Flip Skateboard’sExtremely Sorry soundtrack.
A Place To Bury Strangers, Keep Slipping Away. From 2009’s Exploding Head.
Exploding Head is the third full-length feedback-y release from this Brooklyn based band. Currently in Europe, Strangers will conclude the European leg of their tour with a newly announced show in London on December 15th. A Place to Bury Strangers will be at Neumo’s in Seattle on March 12, 2010.
Julien Temple has confirmed that he will direct a film about The Kinks with the tentative working title, “You Really Got Me”. Temple says the movie will focus on the tumultuous relationship of Ray and Dave Davies. To this day the brothers barely speak to each other. In 2008 when Ray spoke publicly about the possibility of a Kinks reunion, Dave responded via Rolling Stone saying that the Kinks getting back together would be like a “poor remake of ‘Night of the Living Dead”.
So far Ray Davies is said to be on board and working with Temple on the films historical details. No release date yet but, for something that’s bound to be great, I can wait. In other Kinks news (yes, there’s more), Ray Davies will release a Holiday duet with Chrissie Hynde called Postcards from London on Monday, December 7th.
James Williamson, the guitarist responsible for the riffs on The Stooges 1973 record, Raw Power, will fill the very large, punk rock shoes of the late Ron Asheton(who played bass on Raw Power) when The Stooges hit the road in 2010. The tour will kick off in London in May.
Deborah Harry photographed by Rankin – and ‘remixed’ by Damien Hirst.
70 portraits of musicians like Ian Brown of the Stone Roses, The Gossip, and Joe Strummer, taken by London based photographer Rankin, will be auctioned off on November 14th in London. All the proceeds will be donated to Youth Music, a charitable organization that helps provide musical instruction and experiences to children throughout the UK.
What in the name of Led Zeppelin? Floor tickets for Bon Jovi’s O2 residency selling for $300!
Now before you go blaming some greedy Peter Grant type promoter for this shocking ticket expenditure, don’t. And that’s because the members of Bon Jovi actually approve the ticket prices before they go on sale. Floor seats for Bon Jovi’s 2010 JuneResidency in London at O2,will tap your spandex ass for nearly $300 while other not so hair metal seats will run you between $60-$110 bucks. Which is also too much for Bon Jovi.
Hugh Hefner Porn Collage by Jonathan Yeo. Yes, that is a vagina on Hugh’s neck.
British artist Johnathan Yeo creates his amazing collages out of porn magazines. In 2007, Yeo had a commission yanked by the Bush administration after he used 100 vintage porn magazines to produce this image of GWB.

If boozing was an olympic event, we would be on a box of Wheaties. If this all sounds familiar to you (and your mother), welcome home.
