Movies About Girls Episode #81 is up now!

If you missed hearing it LIVE on Friday, Episode #81, the EPIC, nearly all-night-long show called, Movies About Girls, The Podcast, is now available for your listening pleasure. In a mere six hours (!) the MAG cast (including yours truly), managed to talk our way through the following things, and MORE:

The unexpectedly awesome, porn-y Jennifer Tilly-jammed road flick, Fast Sofa, starring Crispin Glover.

The Top 5 and Bottom 5 DVD releases of the week, the Weekly Boobs Report (with the best of Denver, Kent Shelton), and another round of Hits From Hell, MAG’s never ending search or the worst song ever recorded.

An awesome guest appearance by Circus of Power vocalist, Showbiz Al, the very metal front man regaled us all with Mag-tastic stories about running from with Danzig to, shopping with Slymenstra Hymen at the Home Depot.

What more could you ask for? Free booze? A free MAG t-shirt? Well, if you missed the show, you also missed your chance to win your very own, one of a kind, MAG t-shirt. Better luck, next time buster!

Wondering when next time is? Well, your next chance to get lucky, punk, will be MAG’s next live broadcast on Saturday, September 4th @ 6 PM EST (3 PM PST). Among our regular titillating topics, you’ll also get to hear Cherrybomb’s recap of the SlayerTestament and Megadeth show, aka, the American Carnage Tour. The very metal triad of evil, finally hits Seattle after a year of waiting, on Friday, September 3rd.  Screw Bummershoot. To say I’m chomping at the bit for this show is an understatement. Be there!

My apologies in advance to my ears and liver.

Steven Tyler + American Idol = America F*$k Yeah…? 2

Posted on August 02, 2010 by DJC

Red, White and Bluesman! Is Steven Tyler is headed to the judges chair on American Idol?

After Aerosmith’s show in Vegas yesterday, Steven Tyler sort of confirmed the recent rumor that he will take over one of the judges chairs for the upcoming American Idol 2011 season. In addition to recording a solo record, Tyler said he would “probably” be a part of the shows eighth season, starting in January. Tyler also confirmed the “rumors” that he was “pregnant with Joe Perry’s baby”. Much to the chagrin of Joe Perry.

Tyler says he’s currently got 12 songs in the can for his solo record but, plans to get back to basics with Aerosmith first and record the bands 15th studio album sometime later this year.

Daily Earwig: Drums of Death War Pigs Mashup… 0

War Pig mash-up by Drums of Death. 2008.

Sometimes mash-up’s perilously straddle the line between completely awesome and, awesomely tragic. Anyway, since I can’t figure out if this Sabbath mash-up by Drums of Death is in fact awesome or, if it’s the reason my ears are currently bleeding, I’ll leave it to you to decide.

Courtney Love’s VH1 “Behind The Music” premieres on Sunday night. After watching this mind-fucking 3 minute teaser for the show via Dlisted, I had to go lay down. How I’m going to make it through two hours of Courtney’s balls-out brand of crazy is beyond me, but I’m going to try.

Slayer – World Painted Blood: The Video… 0

Posted on June 17, 2010 by DJC

Slayer, World Painted Blood. From 2009’s, World Painted Blood.

Often, a video can elevate a song to new levels of awesomeness. This is one of those times. The new video for Slayer’s single “World Painted Blood” is a cross between an episode of Metalocalypse and, what it might be like seeing Slayer live while tripping your balls out on acid. The video was directed by Marvel comic/graphic artist Mark Brooks who, in addition to his contributions to Metalocalypse, also directed the 20 minute short “Playing With Dolls” that was released with the deluxe edition of World Painted Blood last year.
