Remember That Time When Ronnie James Dio Was A Singing Cartoon Frog?

With a heavy metal nod to the excellent crew of Dangerous Minds, I give you video from a scene in ‘The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshoppers Feast’. A 1974 animated release created by Deep Purple bassist, Roger Glover, that features Ronnie James Dio as a singing frog.

I’m sad to say I don’t remember seeing this when I was a mini-bomb, but after just watching Dio-Frog turn into a four-headed singing frog beanstalk, as well as reading DM’s backstory on the trippy flick, I’m going to track a copy down. Bonus? Vincent Price, a young David Coverdale, as many other metal musicians that went on to be parts of Judas Priest, Sabbath, Rainbow, and Elf are also a part of the massive musical cast of Butterfly. Mind blown.
