You might want stick a tongue depressor in your mouth before you watch the new video for NIN’s new single, “Came Back Haunted“. With that said, I think the video really compliments the song well, and I love Lynch’s bizzaro influences throughout.
In other news, in a recent interview with The Independent, David Lynch said that he has “no plans to make any more films in the future”. Here’s Lynch laying out a sad, but all-too realistic view of the current state of cinema:
It’s a very depressing picture. With alternative cinema – any sort of cinema that isn’t mainstream – you’re fresh out of luck in terms of getting theatre space and having people come to see it. Even if I had a big idea, the world is different now. Unfortunately, my ideas are not what you’d call commercial, and money really drives the boat these days. So I don’t know what my future is. I don’t have a clue what I’m going to be able to do in the world of cinema.
While I would hate to think we’ll never be treated to another David Lynch flick, I’ll be happy as long as the 67 year old icon keeps creating. Speaking of new weirdness from David Lynch, his latest artistic expression, his new album, “The Big Dream” is due out on July 15th.
