What can I say about Nick Cave? Perhaps he’s a genius or the world is catching up with him….
Unfortunately genius is impossible to gauge. My feeling is its closer to divine intervention then anything else. In Nick’s case I think that he’s been struck many times by intervention. Genius doesn’t last all that long. For example is Paul McCartney still a genius? He was, but not any longer.
In Nick’s case I feel genius comes and goes with him. At least he’s had the taste at being a genius.
Nick’s music is testament to his genius!
It would too easy to label Cave’s Twitter interaction as you’ve depicted, but that would negate his other characteristics. But, he really should be pulled up for his arrogant belittling rudeness. His creative capabilities shouldn’t excuse his apparent lack of social decorum. What a twat.
