L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattelan.
This is a new public art installation in Milan called “L.O.V.E.” by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. Naturally, the massive middle-finger salute has stirred up some controversy. However, Cattelan says that that the marble carving, stands for love – but “everyone can read between the lines and take away the message they see for themselves“.
L.O.V.E. will remain in front of it’s temporary home, the Milan Stock Exchange, until October 24th. According to public speculation, the impressive work will likely find a permanent home in Milan’s Museum of Modern Art.
