A Dangerous Drunken Screwball

Suspria Gets Restored, Remake To Start Filming in 2010…

Clip from 1977’s Suspiria. NSFW or if you’re alone…

For me, the clip above is the most frightening scene from Suspiria. You will never look at barbed wire the same way again. If you’ve never seen Suspiria, this clip is what hipsters refer to as a “spoiler”.

Somewhere within my list of top ten stab-fests is the 1977 mind-fucker Suspiria,  directed by one of the living masters of the genre, Dario Argento. Later this month a newly restored technicolor version of the film (that screened in New York in August) will be released.

Generally, the words “remake” would send a round of killer-outside-my-window inspired chills down my spine. This is not the case when it comes to the planned update to Suspiria. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) is set to direct the film which will begin filming in 2010.
