Welcome to a new weekly post here at Cherrybombed.com called Sears ‘74. For this installment, I’ll be posting photos from theSears Fall/Winter from 1974 every Wednesday. My father was a window dresser for Sears during the 70’s, so theSears of the ’70’s holds a special place inwhat’s left of the “good memories” portion of my brain. I’m also aware that the Sears Catalog was considered better eye candy than Playboy back in the day, so be prepared for lots of prepubescent masturbation type flashbacks. I’ve got a seemingly endless supply for this topic so rinse off your polyester-blend slacks and pour yourself a cup of Sanka, I give you, the Dickie Bra.
Unknown Hinson has lots of worldly advice on things like guitars, liquor and Liquid Chicken. And if being the hillbilly troubadour from Hell wasn’t enough, Hinson also voices the part of Early Cuyler, the most white trash squid this side of the Macon line, on Adult Swim’sSquidbillies.
Local film maker Antony De Gennaro’s film, Son of Terror has been picked up by Seattle based distribution company IndieFlix. The flick, four years in the making, was released yesterday, September 15th. In the coming months the creature feature nightmare, shot right in downtown Seattle, will be available through a variety of venues including NetFlix, iTunes and Amazon.com.
It’s always exciting to see a hardworking member of Seattle creative arts scene score some well deserved success!
Happy birthday to the chief muse of this blog, Mickey Rourke. I have no idea when this photo was taken or who it was taken by but on behalf of my eyes, I want to thank you.
Cherrybombed.com is about the music and culture of the Pacific Northwest, as well as other cool happenings around the world. We also shine a spotlight on celebrities behaving badly. Here, you will find videos, low-brow artwork and images, and tattoos only a mother could hate.
If boozing was an olympic event, we would be on a box of Wheaties. If this all sounds familiar to you (and your mother), welcome home.
