If you can find them, Bling Teeth will run you about 75 cents. Now that’s crunky. I mean funky. I think. Anyway, what’s even funkier than that is Bling Teeth’s animated spokes person and his cosmic resemblance toBootsy Collins. Collect all 22 Bling Teeth or die trying while choking on the small parts.

A very sexy friend of mine emailed me about this new single from Dinosaur Jr,I Don’t Wanna Go There and it was love from the first fuzzed-out chord. Here’s the track listing for Farm:

04 Plans
05 Your Weather

April 18th will mark the second annual Record Store Day. Across the country, Indie record stores will release exclusive material from a wide range of artist. This year,Slayer will release their first new single since 2006, Psychopathy Red on 7′ red vinylexclusively through independent retailers.
To truly be considered an independent music resource, 70% of the record store ownership must reside within the state the shop is located. The store can’t be a publicly traded entity and must have a product line consisting of at least 50% music (CD’s, vinyl, etc). Over 700 stores will be taking part in Record Store Day this year. Over 100 artists will participating in Record Store Day promotions. Here are a few of my personal highlights:

Alice Cooper cassette tape art by Sami Havia. Acrylic on cassette tape, 2006.
Helsinki artist Sami Haviahas been experimenting with cassette tape art for a few years now. Havia said he first got the idea to use cassettes from one of his courses at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts. The objective of the course was to create art using trash or recycled artifacts. This exploration inspired Havia to create a series of cassette tape artfor his first solo show, Home I Away.
Sami Havia, Bob Marley on cassette tape. Acrylic, pencil and paper. For JB.
One of my favorite cassette creations from the 26 year old Havia is his portrait of Bob Marley. Havia lists street artist Banksy and the awesomely bad website, Horrible Tattoosas sources of inspiration for his analog artwork.
Ian Curtis Cassette Tape art by IrI5. The image of Curtis is made by using the tape from the cassette.
London artist Iri5 used a different process when creating her series of portraits made from the cassette and the actual cassette tape. The series, Ghost in the Machine, features images of Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. IrI5 uses old books, newspapers, photographs, magazines, textbooks, electronics and cassettes when creating her one-of-a-kind works of art.
