Subliminal Projects Gallery, operated by Shepard Fairey, is hosting a retrospective of works by artist John Van Hamersvled through April 4th. Van Hamersvled’s famous 70’s illustration, Johnny Face, was the inspiration for The Rolling Stones lip’s and tongue logo created byJohn Pasche. Van Hamersvled was also responsible for the original Star Wars logo. Unfortunately, the artist’s original design was modified just enough by George Lucas’s artistic team that Van Hemersvled was never compensated for it.
John Van Hamersvled lives and works somewhere near a beach in Southern California.
It seems like everyone is on Twitter except for me and Christopher Walken. Oh, wait, I forgot the point of this post was to tell you that Christopher Walken is now on Twitter. My bad. Here’s something from Walken’s Twitter site posted earlier today:
There’s a kid on a Pogo stick in front of my house. It’s nearly midnight so let’s assume he’s been drinking. This should end well for him.
So is it actually The Real Walken behind this Twitter page? Probably not but it’s still pretty sweet. More Twitter musings from Christopher Walken (maybe)here…
About 36 seconds in, if you close your eyes you can hear the signature howl ofJoe Strummerfrom London Calling. Of course, it’s not actually Joe but Shit’s Disco’s vocalist Joel Stone. Anyway, I recommend you keep your eyes open throughout this video for Shit Disco’s, I Know Kung Fu(above). If you close your eyes, you might miss the following things: sweaty musicians, blood, chicks in tight gym shorts, vampire chicks in the audience, and the drummer pounding his kit with a severed head.
Cherrybombed.com is about the music and culture of the Pacific Northwest, as well as other cool happenings around the world. We also shine a spotlight on celebrities behaving badly. Here, you will find videos, low-brow artwork and images, and tattoos only a mother could hate.
If boozing was an olympic event, we would be on a box of Wheaties. If this all sounds familiar to you (and your mother), welcome home.
