John McCain works the room in Arlington, VA.

At a rally in Arlington, Virginia today, John McCain had yet another “what was he thinking” zinger when speaking about Barack Obama:

After I whip his “you know what” in this debate, we’re going to be going out 24/7,” McCain said of his upcoming debate with Obama, considering recent criticism that his words have been too inflammatory, he quickly told supporters to be respectful.

I don’t know what to say here. Except that I’m much more familiar with the phrase “I’m going to kick your ass”. That and I’m pretty sure in this case, the words “you know what” mean ass and the word kick is cleverly (or not so cleverly) disguised by McCain as the word whip. Anyway, after setting a great example for respect, McCain then said that he expected his supporters to conduct themselves appropriately. You know, no toy monkeys with Obama stickers on them and everyone should refrain from loudly referring to Obama as a terrorist or a “commie faggot”.
