Korgoth of Barbaria… 0

Korgoth of Bavaria, Episode 1, 2006.

…may be coming back to your devil box. Korgoth ran for only one season as a part of Adult Swim during 2006. However, a Korgoth Fan Site is reporting that Korgoth may return again to bloody our television airwaves. Korgoth is the brainchild of Aaron Springer, the demented mind behind Spongebob Squarepants.

In other bloody cartoon madness, I highly recomend that you check out Dethrecord, the new episode of Metalocalypse that premired last night. I can’t get Murderface’s songĀ  “Takin’ it Easy” out of my head. Also, watch for Murderface’s homage to Steven Tyler. Aerosmith is everywhere…

That’s Sir Governor Barkley To You… 0

Sir Charles’ 1991 Milwalkie Mug Shot.

Sir Charles Barkely announced last week that he will run for Governor of Alabama as an Independant in 2014. Alabama’s current Governor, Bob Riely, is a Republican.

Alabama’s largest city, Birmingham, is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy to the tune of 3.2 Million dollars. Barkely, who announced his intentions to pursue the Alabama’s Governors Office this past February, reiterated that he will run in 2014. While attending the Democratic National Convention last week, Barkley said that he felt like “Alabama needed help”. However, Sir Charles has been speaking publicly about running for Alabama’s Governor’s seat for over ten years now.

In 1995, Barkley, then a Republican, said he was considering running in the 1998 Governor’s race. Then in 2006, Barkley changed his party affiliation, and had this to say about his former Republican teammates:

I was a Republican until they lost their minds, “The word ‘conservative’ means ‘discriminatory,’ practically. It’s a form of political discrimination. What do the Republicans run on? Against gay marriage and for a war that makes no sense. A war that was based on faulty intelligence. That’s all they ever talk about. That and immigration. Another discriminatory argument for political gain.

Barkely, an Alabama native, is arguably one of the greatest forwards in the history of the game of basketball. He holds two Olympic Gold medals. In 1991 Barkley was arrested, and later acquitted, for assault and battery after allegedly punching a man in the face. He also has a history of compulsive gambling, sometimes loosing hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time. Despite a remarkable 16 year career in the NBA, Barkley says he’s no “role model”.

Sounds like he’s perfect for the job.
