Silver Jews, Sleeping is the Only Love. I could not agree more…
…and since we are speaking of such things as love, I have to confess that Silver Jews “Suffering Jukebox” is my favorite song of the moment. God DAMN that song is so pretty. SJ’s David Berman channels Magnetic Fields’ Stephin Merritt when it comes to the vocals on Jukebox. And GOD DAMN, that is a good thing. Anyway, for sure Cherrybomb knows plenty about suffering jukeboxes. I spent some time on the East Coast and hit the beach bar for a week straight and was forced to listen to all kinds of musical fuckery, like Toby Keith and The Eagles. I kid you not, the same drunk douche would play Hotel California at the same time, every night. That song makes me want to smash things. Like jukeboxes. And that’s just wrong.
