Little People in the City, The Street Art of Slinkachu. 128 page hardbound book is due out on September 5th.

Slinkachu is a London installation artist and photographer who, for the last few years, has been taking photos of Little People on the streets of London. His book, Little People in the City: The Street Art of Slinkachu, compiles his photographs of the Little People from the last several years. Of course, my personal favorites are the ones of Little People doing bad things or falling into some sort of mayhem.

This photograph is from a Slinkachu 2007 installation at the Nuart Gallery in New Mexico. Who knew being a Little Person was so dangerous? That’s a fantastically large piece of glass for even an actual size person to be impaled with. You can check out the rest of Slinkachu’s miniature installation here.

Of course, there are advantages to being a Little Person. I mean, LOOK at the size of that Oxycontin. A Little Person could get high for weeks off that thing. Slinkachu’s little people know how to have a good time.

Slinkachu, For Sale, 2007.

Speaking a having a good time, Slinkachu’s For Sale, pays homage to the age old profession of whoring your ass out for cash. Hey, even little Ho’s gotta eat. I’m not exactly sure what little Ho’s eat though. Mini-Ho Cakes? Cocktail weiners? Baby Bananas? Sorry, I got a little carried away there. Ho-Cakes…

Slinkachu, Office Politics, 2007.

Office Politics is one of my favorite Slinkachu pieces. After working as a corporate whore for many years, I can totally identify with Little Person with the small (okay large) anger management problem above. Slinkachu says that after he photographs his Little People, he rarely returns to check and see if they are still there. Trippy…

To celebrate the release of Little People, Slinkachu is holding a Little People Treasure Hunt in London on August 31st. If you win, you’ll get a limited edition signed print from the book. You can check out more of Slinkachu’s art and his Little People on his blog. You can also buy some very cool swag from Slinkachu’s Little People store.
