Summer Reading According to Cherrybomb… 0

Posted on August 02, 2008 by DJC

Max Brooks, World War Z.

Cherrybomb can read. It’s true. Here’s my current short-list:

World War Z: WWZ is Max Brooks’s 2006 tale of an actual Zombie apocalypse told from the perspective of the survivors. Use the Risk Calculator on the WWZ site to see if you would survive a Zombie War. Cherrybomb’s chances for survival were 45%. Yikes. I better re-read Brooks’ other book, the Zombie Survival Guide.

Chuck Palahniuk, Snuff.

Snuff: Chuck Palahniuk’s new book is about a porn star on a quest to bang 600 guys on film. I’m in the middle of this one right now.  While it’s not one of Palahniuk’s best, Snuff is still very fucking good.

Irivine Welsh, Crime – out on August 26th.

Crime: Irvine Welsh is back with a story about a ten year old girl, a gang of pedophiles and Welsh’s character from his Cockney book of madness, Filth (a Cherrybomb fave), crazy Detective Sergeant Bruce Robertson. Welsh will be reading from Crime, due out on August 26th, in Seattle at Elliot Bay Books on September 24th. Other book-tour stops for Welsh in September include New York, Chicago and Portland at Powell’s.

Thanks to Freddy Pants for the Zombie link…
