Daniel Edlen Loves Vinyl… 0

Posted on July 27, 2008 by DJC

Daniel Edlen, Lou on Vinyl, $175. For Mr. Incredible.

Artist Daniel Edlen loves vinyl more than anyone I know. And that’s saying a lot. Each piece is hand-painted by Edlen with acrylic paint, making each record unique.

You can even send Edlen your own LP for him to adorn with your favorite rock star mug. Cherrybomb is naturally sweet on the Kiss one above. But I can’t help but have a small pang of sadness for the copy of Destroyer that was sacrificed in the name of art.

On this vid, you can watch Edlen painting Johnny Cash onto one of his old Sun records. You can see more of Edlen’s Vinyl art at his site or up close at the Primitive Kool Gallery in San Diego, as well as spots in Austin and Arizona. Daniel Edlen lives and works in Phoenix.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately but the beach and the bar and the bar at the beach, are really hard to compete with. I’m sure you wish you had the same problem. If you do, please carry the fuck on.

More soon…
